
Psychometrist
Laura Johnson, MS, CSP, earned her Master of Science in Psychology from Montana State University Billings, where she also completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, graduating Magna Cum Laude and as an Honors Program Scholar. She is a Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP) and has served as board treasurer for the National Association of Psychometrists.
What is a Psychometrist?: A psychometrist is an expert who administers and scores neuropsychological, psychological, personality, and academic tests.
Since 2008, Laura has extensive clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings at Billings Clinic. In 2023, she joined Montana Psychiatry, continuing her dedication to mental health care. Additionally, Laura is a lecturer in psychology at Montana State University Billings, where she shares her knowledge and passion for the field with her students.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?: Helping clients feel seen and understood through data that affirms their lived experience.
What is something unique or interesting about you that most people don’t know?:
I originally started college with plans to become a nurse but quickly realized I was much more interested in what people were thinking and feeling.

- Collaborative psychological assessment services, with a focus on cognitive, academic, and personality functioning.
- I specialize in psychometric administration, scoring, and interpretation support, working alongside licensed psychologists to help clarify diagnostic questions and promote client insight.
