Jorey Egeland,
MPAS, PA-C, CAQ-Psychiatry

Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Jorey Egeland is a Billings native dedicated to providing high-quality, preventive psychiatric care to his home community. With a strong clinical foundation in acute medicine and a deep commitment to mental well-being, Jorey joined the Montana Psychiatry team to help patients achieve stability before a crisis occurs. He believes that mental health is the cornerstone of a healthy life and works tirelessly to ensure that every Montanan has access to the compassionate, science-driven care they deserve.

After graduating with honors in Biology and Chemistry from Montana State University Billings, Jorey earned his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Rocky Mountain College. His journey into psychiatry was inspired by his time as an ER Technician at St. Vincent Hospital, where he recognized a critical gap in outpatient mental health services. This experience fueled his passion for “preventive psychiatry”, a proactive approach that prioritizes early intervention and long-term mental resilience.

Jorey Egeland

From Acute Care to Prevention

Jorey’s background in the Emergency Room gave him a unique perspective on the intersection of physical and mental health. While he excelled in the fast-paced environment of acute care, he saw a significant need for a more sustainable, outpatient model of psychiatric medicine. At Montana Psychiatry, he applies that same level of clinical precision to preventive care, helping patients manage complex conditions through evidence-based treatments and proactive wellness strategies.

Advanced Clinical Training

A lifelong learner, Jorey completed his clinical training directly with the team at Montana Psychiatry before joining the practice full-time in 2023. His dedication to the field is further evidenced by his Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry, a prestigious credential that recognizes his advanced clinical skills and specialized knowledge. He utilizes this expertise to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of the Billings community.

Community-Focused Wellness

As a local who was born and raised in Billings, Jorey is deeply invested in the health of his neighbors. His approach is defined by a genuine empathy for his patients and a desire to see all Montanans thrive. Outside of the clinic, Jorey stays active in the landscapes he loves, whether he is running, skiing, or hiking. He also enjoys a quiet life at home with his wife and their two cats, finding balance in the same healthy lifestyle he encourages for his patients.
