Lisa Elsberry,
MSN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Lisa Elsberry is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner who brings a wealth of diverse clinical experience to the team at Montana Psychiatry. A Bozeman native, Lisa’s career is defined by a deep commitment to the people of Montana and a passion for holistic, patient-centered care. By combining her extensive background in acute medical nursing with advanced psychiatric specialization, she provides a compassionate and comprehensive approach to mental health recovery.

Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Wyoming before returning to Billings to serve as a Registered Nurse in high-pressure environments, including Intensive Care and Oncology. It was during her time in Psychiatric Nursing, however, that she found her true calling. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialized focus on Psychiatry from Walden University, graduating in 2022 to transition into an advanced practice role.

Lisa Elsberry

A Foundation in Critical Care

Lisa’s clinical expertise is anchored by her years of experience in the ICU and Oncology wards. This rigorous medical background allows her to understand the complex physical toll that chronic illness and high-stress environments take on the mind. At Montana Psychiatry, she utilizes this "whole-body" perspective to ensure that her patients' mental health treatment is integrated with their overall physical well-being.

From Acute Crisis to Stability

Having served as an inpatient provider, Lisa has a sophisticated understanding of acute psychiatric care and crisis intervention. While she mastered the fast-paced nature of hospital medicine, she discovered a profound passion for preventative psychiatry. She now focuses her practice on providing the outpatient tools and long-term strategies patients need to achieve lasting stability and prevent future crises before they begin.

Compassionate Montana Roots

Born and raised in the Big Sky State, Lisa is deeply invested in the health and resilience of her community. Her approach is characterized by the same empathy and dedication she displayed as a bedside nurse, now elevated by advanced diagnostic and prescriptive expertise. She is thrilled to bring her "patient-first" philosophy to the Billings area, helping her neighbors navigate their mental health journeys with dignity and evidence-based support.
