Group Therapy

At Montana Psychiatry, we know how isolating it can feel to face mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, or trauma on your own. It’s easy to believe you’re the only one struggling with these weights. That’s why we offer group therapy in Billings, Bozeman, and through telepsychiatry across Montana—providing a shared space where you can connect with others who truly understand your experience.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions, which is why our groups are intentionally designed to address specific needs and shared goals. Each session is led by our experienced clinicians who facilitate meaningful dialogue, teach evidence-based coping skills, and ensure a supportive environment. Our focus is straightforward: help you build a community of support, gain new perspectives, and feel more in control of your journey toward wellness.

About DBT Group Therapy

What Is DBT?

DBT stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. It’s a type of therapy that helps people learn real-life skills to manage emotions, handle stress, improve relationships, and make healthier choices. In DBT, you’ll learn how to stay present in the moment, cope with big feelings without losing control, and build a life that feels more balanced and meaningful.

It’s especially helpful for people who feel overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, or unsure how to move forward.

Who Can Benefit From DBT?

DBT can benefit anyone who wants to feel more in control of their emotions, improve their relationships, or find better ways to handle everyday stress. Whether you’re struggling with sleep, feeling stuck in your routine, or just looking for answers to simple day-to-day problems, DBT offers practical tools you can use immediately.

You don’t have to share your life story or dig into past trauma if you’re not ready. And you don’t have to feel vulnerable in front of strangers. DBT is about learning skills in a supportive, respectful space at your own pace.

Two Powerful Group Options For Healing

Montana Psychiatry is committed to collaborating with our Montana community to provide accessible mental health support. We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare. Participants can maintain their therapist or counselor in the community while attending our programs, provided they are not seen on the same day.

What We Treat

Depression

We help people living with major depression and similar conditions by pairing carefully chosen medications with ongoing support. The right antidepressants can ease persistent low moods, give you back energy, and make it easier to take part in daily life again.

Anxiety Disorders

Generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety can make everyday life feel overwhelming. Medications can help regulate stress responses and reduce persistent worry, giving you space to practice coping strategies with more ease.

Bipolar Disorders

For people living with bipolar disorder, we often use mood stabilizers and other medications to help even out the extreme highs and lows. People tell us they have more energy, sleep more soundly, and connect with others more easily, which makes everyday life feel a little easier to handle.

Insomnia

Sleep is essential for mental health. Our psychiatrists can recommend medications that support restful sleep while monitoring for side effects, helping you wake up feeling more refreshed and ready to take on the day.

PTSD

Post-traumatic stress disorder can affect mood, sleep, and focus. Medication management can help reduce intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and hyperarousal, allowing therapy and coping strategies to work more effectively.

ADHD

For people with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, the right medications can help with focus and managing impulses. These changes make day-to-day tasks at work, school, or home feel more manageable and less stressful.

OCD

Obsessive-compulsive disorder can feel overwhelming, but medications can reduce intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors, giving you the mental space to apply behavioral strategies and live more freely.

Wow! I have been going to this clinic for TMS and Ketamine treatments since August 2025. The office staff, PAs, and doctors are so kind, caring, and helpful. If you need extra support, they even have an assistance line you can call when you need to talk. They have so much insight into mental health.
